Day 7, Pinoles and heading home...bye Puerto Rico
It's morning! everyone up! time to clean up and pack...have to be out by 10!
Check out the "PH" after we cleaned it! just remember to come back!

Sure enough, I'm going to see something new on the way to the airport! The Piñones Natural Reserve is along the north side of Puerto Rico and smack dab between the PH and the airport! It has a boardwalk through the forest, beach, a maze of mangroves and even a small bioluminescent bay. We aren't sure what is hanging up in the trees. The blue lizards were easy to identify but not easy to get close to! they are about the length of a hand from snout to the hind legs. With the tail they are probably over 1 foot.
In the woodsy areas were trees and ferns like this. Then there was a mangrove area with lots of trees and roots (must be where the biobay area is) and the upland areas had plants and flowers like on the right. Lots of stuff to see...
Mostly what there was to see was CRABS! everywhere! some seemed to be right clawed and others were left clawed!
The ones we saw got to be about 4 inches across but I think there were bigger ones out there as well!
Before I was wondering what all the little holes were for...I think that mystery is solved!
Still don't know what those big black things in the trees are...
Last call for sea water! one last walk in the sand at the beach in Pinoles...ok, ready for the airport!

Well we are half way home! This is the airport in Charlotte NC. Another new state! Hopefully we find another shirt...sure enough...here is a "USA" tank for the 4th of July! Cool!

What a great trip. We saw so many new things. From the rain forest to the snorkeling reefs there is something for everyone here!

Time to go home...we'll be in around midnight! see you then!
