Puerto Rico...arrival and Day 1...
We had an EARLY flight and connected in Phladelphia before we landed into San Juan. From there we drove over to Laquillo (Lakeo) to our condo on the beach. Here is a picture of it the next day after I got a little sleep! we have a penthouse on the top floor facing the beach. They had a pool too, awesome!

Both dad and I tried the boogie boards. The waves aren't too big in front of our condo at Playa Azul beach. We could still practice a little bit.

But I prefer building sand castles and mom likes to read her silly books.

Vacation is about doing what you really want to do!

For a sand castle you need walls, a moat and a swimming pool...there...it is perfect!
We took a stroll through the El Porto center and then hit the trail.
The leaves were enormous and the roots...well, strange! under ground and in the air!
There were bananas even! did you know they grow upside down like this! and ferns 120 feet high and trees covered with vines...
Did I mention flowers? There were flowers all over like these and smaller orchid type flowers as well...
Maybe the coolest things, though were the lizards...no wait the snails...well they were both cool! the snail was as big as my fist! but the lizard only as big as my finger...
Still plenty of light left in the day so we headed off to the Li Mina trail that has a falls a the end...are we there yet?
these are falls, and these are falls too! how will we know we are there? ...nope here are the falls! I even went in with mom...

and then dad joined in the action! he climbed right in the falls! kind of crazy!

I liked it over in my "spa" area where the rocks made a natural lounge chair for me.

The water was a perfect temperature and there are no bugs! did I mention before that there are no bugs here! amazing!

Come along for day 2!
