I learned a lot about "the big heads". Turns out all of these guys were presidents! I even earned another one of the deputy medals by becoming a Junior Park Ranger here too!

George Washingon was carved because he was our first president so he stands for the birth of our country.
Thomas Jefferson was next because he stands for the growth of the country from the Louisiana purchase.
Abraham Lincoln embodies the preservation of the union in confronting the cival war.
Theodore Roosevelt represents the development of the country with the construction of the Panama Canal and the National Park System.
