I wasn't sure what an Aviary was but it is a place you can walk around right with the birds! It was totally cool!
Turtles are some of my favorite animals!
The zoo operates as a Manatee
hospital. Florida is the only place
in the US with Manatees. They
get hurt by boats and fishing.

They stay here until they recover
and then they are released back
near where they were found.

There were several at the
hospital when we were
there. They like to eat lettuce
more than I do! and eat a lot
of it!

The red wolf was running all over his pen and was the smaller than a grey wolf.

The babies were almost as big as the momma! The "baby" Tarpin looked awful big too!
The white tiger was a baby too and there were lots of Meerkat babies. The rhino we don't see at home but I know we have pigs!
A pygmy hippo and baby...who knew that there were hippos only four feet tall at the shoulder!
They had a lot of giraffes at this zoo! they even had a feeding station where you could feed them crackers!
We don't get to see elephants much back home either! you can tell these are from Africa by their big ears!
The primates at thiz zoo were pretty funny and played-well except the chimp he was tired by the time we got to him.
This animal is related to the giraffe..
it looks like a cross between a giraffe and a zebra!
The porcupine was super cute.
She came out after the bird show was over.
Well it was quite a zoo but we covered it in a day! We are off to the Renaissance Festival tomorrow!
I'll be the little fairy, mom will be the one with purple hair. Probably the only one with purple hair...again!
