Around Keystone there are many Gold Mines. Maybe if we strike it rich we can stay here!

We went to the Big Thunder Gold Mine to try our hand at panning gold and to see a real Gold Mine.

Two immigrants from a place called Germany tried to get rich here. Our guide showed us how they blasted the tunnel we went through. It is really deep!

They only ran into two veins of Gold Ore in their lifetime and didn't make much money. I bet they were a bit upset.

We also tried to pan for gold. The pebbles we were using came right from the creek. We each found several flakes of gold.

Not sure we will get rich real quick this way. Hmmm...guess they will be off to work on Monday after all!
